Minamiaso Yaki Kamamoto Pottery Making

Feel like a real potter and make your own unique design or hand- or wheel-shaped piece!

You can paint a pre-made piece or use a potter's wheel or your hands to shape one of your very own. Make a rice bowl or a teacup or anything else you would like! Helpful staff guide your pottery-making experience, and even small children (ages three and up) can make something with a parent's help. Once the ceramic has dried, your piece will be glazed, fired, and then shipped to you. Please allow at least 1 month for delivery.

Minamiaso Yaki pottery made with volcanic ash

Minaoaso Yaki Kamamoto produces pottery using special ceramics infused with the natural gifts of Mt. Aso. The beautiful transformation in the materials is thanks to the volcanic rock and ash from which they are made. Visitors can view pottery exhibitions in addition to crafting their own pottery in one of the five workshops. We hope you will treasure the piece you make. Any imperfections add charm to your one-of-a-kind piece!
